Alcina is a fictional character invented by Italian poet Ludovico Ariosto. She is one of the evil witches in his famous heroic epic poem Orlando Furioso. The witch lives on a extraordinary, exotic island. The island consists of her ex-lovers and enemies turned by Alcina into all kinds of plants and animals. The independence of Alcina is severally punished - all the magical powers have been taken away from her. However, Pola Dwurnik decides to paint her victory.
